This Executive Committee is focused on advancing and increasing the recognition and adoption of Mautic. Leveraging proven marketing strategies, they lead initiatives to raise awareness, spark interest, and facilitate widespread use of Mautic's open source project while working in collaboration with the Marketing Team. Their strategic approach is key to positioning Mautic favorably in the marketing automation landscape.
The Marketing and Strategy Executive Committee is an integral part of the Mautic Council, tasked with elevating awareness and fostering increased use of Mautic as a whole. Their focus includes developing effective marketing strategies to amplify Mautic's visibility worldwide. They set the strategic directions for marketing campaigns, and work with the Marketing Team who implement those projects on a day-to-day basis.
Their dual focus lies in raising awareness about the project and converting that awareness into tangible usage, thus driving the platform's growth and prominence in the marketing automation landscape. Additionally, they maintain consistent internal communication within the Mautic community, ensuring its members stay informed and engaged.
Meeting Minutes
Attendees
- Ruth Cheesley
- Prateek Jain
- Dominique De Cooman
Notes from this meeting
- Updated Prateek on the outcomes from the Council meeting in Lisbon and an overview of the work done in the sprint. Main takeaway is that we're centralising the product in all of our marketing with the community being one of the strongest features.
- All were pleased to hear this approach has been approved and adopted
- Discussions about comparisons between Mautic and other platforms - Dominique shared the link https://www.groundhogg.io/comparison/mautic/ which does the comparisons quite simply and easily.
- This isn't on the schedule right now for the new website build but we could add it on the next phase.
- All agreed this is an important thing where we can showcase Mautic and position it within the market very clearly
- It would be good to prepare a year's plan of what is reasonable for us to achieve with the marketing over the year, where we need more resources and how we can support those initiatives.
- Identify the resources we have and their probable capacity (e.g. on a weekly basis)
- Determine the tasks that need to be done and when
- Ruth shared concerns that while this might be helpful for getting commitments from others, in reality the experience has been that people's availability changes and is often very limited (hours per week rather than days) so it has limited use when planning projects going forward. Often availability isn't determined by the individual making the commitment but their employer, their family etc.
- Prateek asked how we can use Simran's expertise now she's part of the council - Ruth suggested maybe volunteer coordinator in the marketing team to organise the tasks and volunteers
- Discussion on resourcing and whether we will be continuing with the Acadium membership as it's quite expensive and we only get someone for 10 hours a week which they aren't paid for. It would be better to allocate that budget for someone to work full or part time and have the consistency, Ruth has cancelled the membership and Emily's apprenticeship ends this week. She's done an amazing job.
Actions
- Come up with a resourcing plan for the coming year - start by asking people to make it clear what their time commitments would be on average per week
- Discuss with Simran what her role will look like going forward as she joins the Council
