Position: Assistant Team Lead, Education Team

Term Length: Three-Year Term

Location: Remote/Global

Reports to: Team Lead, Education Team

About the Role:

The Education Team in the Mautic community is looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Team Lead to join our vibrant team. This is a three-year term volunteer role that involves collaborating closely with the Team Lead to manage and enhance the educational resources for Mautic, including end-user documentation, developer documentation, forums, and translations. The role is structured to prepare the Assistant Team Lead to eventually transition into the Team Lead position, ensuring leadership continuity within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Team Lead: Assist in planning and executing strategies for the upkeep and enhancement of educational resources such as end-user and developer documentation, forums, and translations.

• Project Management: Oversee and manage various educational projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

• Community Engagement: Engage with community members to gather feedback, answer questions, and involve them in documentation and translation efforts.

• Resource Development: Monitor and improve the quality and accessibility of educational resources, ensuring they meet the needs of a diverse user base.

• Leadership Transition: During the second year, prepare to step into the Team Lead role by shadowing the current lead and learning the intricacies of the position.

• Handover Assistance: In the third year, support the incoming Assistant Team Lead, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of leadership and educational projects.

Eligibility:

• Must be an active member of the Mautic community with voting rights.

• No outstanding, unresolved code of conduct breaches or investigations.

• Candidates can nominate themselves or be nominated with their consent by another community member.

Voting & Selection:

• The Lead and Assistant Lead will be elected through ranked choice voting within the Education Team.

• Voting is conducted on a 'whoever turns up' basis.

• During the second year of the current Assistant Team Lead's term, an election will be held to select the next Assistant Team Lead.

• Year 1:

• Person A (Team Lead)

• Person B (Assistant Team Lead - previous Team Lead)

• Year 2:

• Person A (Team Lead)

• Person C (New Assistant Team Lead)

• Year 3:

• Person C (Team Lead)

• Person A (Previous Team Lead)

Leadership Transition:

• Three-Month Handover Period: The incoming leader will shadow the outgoing leader to ensure a smooth transition.

• Three-Month Outgoing Period: The outgoing leader will remain available to assist the new leader as needed.
