Problem statement
- The mautic.org website needs an upgrade to allow Mautic to be presented as a product and towards SMB and SME segments.
- The implementation of the website at the moment is not user friendly enough to let independent marketers update pages.

We can see that Mautic.org attract mostly small businesses. Which is fine but we actually need to attract more SMBs (20-200 employees) and SME's (200-2000 employees) and the occassional large enterprise to build a sustainable community and sustainable business model on top of the free trials. The ecosystem needs to be build on organisations willing to pay for support, implementation and contribution. We are not going to get that from one man businesses and small office/home office (SOHOs).
Detailed proposal
The idea is to create wireframes for both a community section (as is) and a product section. We want to do a site building effort with a CMS with a page builder correctly implemented to allow the site to be updated easily. This will speed up the marketing efforts that need the website.
The product section will be developed to allow several verticals to be addressed. A study will be done to determine which verticals to target. Probably we will focus on verticals who are open source sensitive (gov, non profits, membership orgs, healthcare, public/private, sensitive B2B and B2C businesses, sensitive multinationals, ...)
The product homepage and the content will be targeted towards SMBs and SMEs, verticals and free trial conversions.
The Community homepage ant the content will be targeted towards the community (members, partners, contributors, ...)
The main homepage will be a balance between community and product.
The product section will also be used to allow free trials to be positioned towards several chosen verticals.
Benefits / impact
A product section targeted towards verticals in SMB and SME segments will attract the right users to Mautic. Will convert to more business of which 40% will flow to the community providing it with vital resources.
A properly implemented CMS and page builder will allow marketers to do more in less time.
A well positioned website will also help to promote Mautic and will benefit all partners involved in the ecosystem.
A polished experience with a modern design will attract more individuals and businesses towards Mautic.
Potential challenges
Aligning on the wireframes and the design with all stakeholders.
Keeping balance between community and product.
Migrating the existing pages and content might take some effort.
Resources needed
Dropsolid free trials marketing team (Mike & Siman) proposes to build the new website together with the project lead and marketing team lead.
No financial requirements.
Suggested timeline
As soon as possible we like to start wires, design and site building.
If the proposal gets approved this week, by the end of July we could have a new web experience.
