Campaign Library phase 1 delivery - weekly update 11 Apr

Status: 🟠 Minor delay

This week has been slower than anticipated in terms of overall progress. The aim had been to be well into the testing phase by now, but we’ve encountered some challenges finalizing the remaining tickets and meeting the required standards for unit and functional testing, particularly with PHPStan.

Midweek, we made the decision to hold off on starting the manual code review, as the relevant code was still undergoing changes to resolve outstanding issues. As a result, the code review has not yet begun, and we anticipate some back-and-forth once it does, before the PR can be published and testing initiated.

This has been the first week in the project where progress has felt somewhat stop-start, and while the timing is not ideal, it’s also a reflection of the high bar we’ve set for code quality. That said, I still believe we’re on track for completion within the next three weeks. As always, this will depend on what arises during testing — though I’m reassured by the strong technical oversight we’ve maintained throughout, which is often a good indicator that testing won’t uncover any major issues.

On a positive note, I’ve been able to confirm the team who will support the testing phase: two community members and three internal contributors have generously offered their time and expertise. I’m extremely grateful for their involvement, as this will be a valuable opportunity to validate the solution against real-world data and use cases.

Working on the accompanying documentation has also been a helpful reminder of the significant ground covered in a relatively short time, and the depth of thought that has gone into the features. Despite this week’s slower pace, I remain confident that we’re heading toward a strong and successful delivery.
