Overview

Green Perk is a free, open-source email template created specifically for Mautic and its GrapeJS/MJML workflow.

The idea was simple: create a Mautic theme that felt visually appealing, creative and different from the more traditional email templates commonly available, while still being practical to edit and reuse.

Background

One of the main motivations behind Green Perk was to show that Mautic themes do not need to look generic or overly corporate.

The template was designed around strong imagery, illustrations, colour and visual hierarchy, with the goal of creating something enjoyable to use while also inspiring other Mautic users and developers to experiment with more distinctive and creative email designs!

Implementation

Green Perk was 100% hand-coded in MJML and packaged as a native Mautic theme, including editable MJML/Twig source, Mautic configuration, assets and the required theme structure.

The template remains fully customisable, allowing users to replace the content, imagery, colours and links while keeping the original responsive structure.

Community value

Green Perk is freely available and open-source, allowing marketers and developers to download, study, modify and reuse the template in their own projects.

Beyond providing a ready-to-use theme, the intention is also to demonstrate what can be achieved creatively within Mautic and encourage others to contribute their own ideas and designs to the ecosystem.

Lessons learned

Creating Green Perk reinforced the importance of balancing visual creativity with the technical limitations of HTML email.

Images, illustrations and more expressive layouts can make email design much more engaging, but they still need to remain responsive, editable and reliable across email clients.

Future plans

Green Perk will continue to be maintained and improved, with particular focus on accessibility, compatibility with current Mautic versions and making the template even easier to customise.
