2024 Leadership Team Elections

The 2024 Mautic Leadership Team Elections present an opportunity for community members to step up and help shape the future of our open source project. This election cycle, we have several key roles up for grabs, including Community Team Lead, Education Team Assistant Lead, Marketing Team Assistant Lead, and Product Team Assistant Lead (with a focus on product rather than development). Each role is for a three-year term, utilizing a structured transition process to ensure continuity and stability within the leadership.

Transition Structure:

• Year 1:

• Person A (Team Lead)

• Person B (Assistant Team Lead - previous Team Lead)

• Year 2:

• Person A (Team Lead)

• Person C (New Assistant Team Lead)

• Year 3:

• Person C (Team Lead)

• Person A (Previous Team Lead)

During the second year of a term, an election is held, and the first eligible candidate with the highest number of votes is selected as the new Assistant Team Lead. There is a three-month handover period where the incoming leader will shadow the outgoing leader, followed by a three-month outgoing period where the outgoing leader will be available to assist the new leader as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Community Team Lead:

• Community Elected: The Community Team Lead is elected by the Mautic community members through a voting process.

• Leadership: Responsible for leading the Team and overseeing various Working Groups within the team including growing Mautic grass-roots community activity and overseeing the organizing of online and in person MautiCon events.

• Coordination: Coordinates activities across the team and ensures alignment with Mautic's goals and strategies.

• Meetings: Organizes team meetings, setting agendas, and facilitating productive discussions.

• Liaison: Acts as a liaison between the Community Team and other Team Leads to foster collaboration and cohesion.

2. Assistant Team Lead (Education, Marketing, Product):

• Community Elected: Each Assistant Team Lead is elected by the Mautic community members through a voting process.

• Support: Supports the respective Team Lead in managing team activities and achieving goals.

• Liaison: Collaborates with other teams and participates in cross-team discussions to ensure a unified approach to projects and initiatives.

Requirements for Leaders:

• Eligibility: Candidates must be active members of the Mautic community, eligible to vote, and free of any outstanding, unresolved code of conduct breaches or investigations.

• Commitment: Leaders must be committed to their roles for the full three-year term and be prepared for a structured transition process.

• Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Experience in team management and collaboration within open source environments is beneficial.

Election Process:

• Eligible community members can nominate themselves or be nominated by others with their consent.

• Voting will be conducted using ranked choice voting.

• The candidate with the highest number of votes will be elected as the new Assistant Team Lead.
