A regular meeting of the working group building the Mautic trials infrastructure and marketing.

Notes:

  • So far the takeup has been good, about 20 per day signups
  • Technically going well, 6 servers processing trials with two on standby
  • Calls will be starting this week just to find out people's feedback - how are they finding it, is there anything that can be improved, and so forth.
  • Turn back on the campaign for removing unsubscribed campaign
  • Review the GDPR campaign for Mautic
  • Prevent deletion of contact if they unsubscribe - they should be marked as DNC instead.
  • Currently there's nothing for the marketing communication checkbox - we think that this should add them to the community mailing list
  • Some of the deleted contacts will have problems with taking down the trial instance as the API call won't be made
  • Process for closing down a trial
  • Turn off all emails, segments, campaigns, etc and crons
  • Reset permissions to read only
  • If the trial instance is to be moved to live hosting but then there will be problems with DNS, DKIM is set up etc. - steps the customer has to follow
  • Documentation will be important there, because folks need to know the steps to go through
  • There may be issues with themes etc - Mattias and team to review/consider this
  • Team will advise the best process for exporting the data - it will be the config file + media directory + database

Actions:

  1. Review GDPR process for Mautic instance and suggest improvement to prevent the deletion of unsubscribed contacts
  2. Mike to suggest route for the people who were already deleted when they fail the API call (might need to be a manual process
  3. Calls starting this week - will ask for feedback on the trial experience and thoughts/ideas for improvement
  4. Team to share the finalised tier volumes for email sending and the landing page
  5. Clarity on the post-trial conversion process - what are the steps the user will go through, how long until they're up and running etc. We need to set expectations.
