Campaign Library phase 1 delivery - weekly update 31 Jan

Avatar: Official post Official post

Hello all

January is almost done and here's the latest weekly update from the Campaign Library initiative...

Project name: Campaign Library Phase 1
Status: 🟢 On target

This week Levente has mainly been working on adding the UI into the proof of concept that I talked about last time. If you are a member of Slack you can see what this is looking like.

I have also planned an online community meeting for Monday to show interested parties what we've developed so far for the Proof of Concept. Please come along! You can indicate your interest on the meeting post, and the shared link will come to you just before the meeting.

Planning out the forthcoming sprints has been happening (see JIRA) and we've already logged some user stories that would add a lot of value for some fringe use cases if we have time to develop them. I've been thinking a lot about the key risks in the project particularly around edge cases when people have a more exotic combination of entities, plugins and custom fields to work with. The import and export needs to ensure that (within reason!) any campaign set up will work immediately once imported, so we're going to need to check on compatibility and help users to bring their own instance of Mautic in line with what the campaign requires.

We've also been thinking about automation of export and import, for those who work in a multi-instance environment. Probably a way off for now but interesting to see how APIs could help to stabilise environments.

Finally, I touched base this week with Favour Chibueze from the Education team to understand how we will accomplish the documentation requirements within the project for both developers and users.

I'm very interested to hear of the more wacky features and/or benefits users of Mautic would hope to get from this project, and connect with people interested in what we are building. Feel free to message me or leave a comment below.

Thank you
DJ
