Mautic Governance
How do I become a member of the General Assembly?
To become a member of the Mautic General Assembly, you first join the Mautic community and become a basic member by signing up and participating in one of the community channels (Slack, Forums, GitHub, Jira, Transifex, or the Knowledgebase). From here, you can become a voting member in two ways:
1. Financial Contributor: By supporting the Mautic project financially as an individual. The minimum contribution is determined annually by the Community Council and is adjusted based on your location according to the Big Mac Index, with the base rate set at $100 per year. Membership must be paid annually in a single payment via the General Assembly Membership - Individual tier on Open Collective.
2. Practical Contributor: By contributing at least five hours per month to support Mautic or the Mautic community, such as organizing Mautic events or contributing to Mautic projects, or maintaining a free and open source Mautic plugin at the same level of contribution. You must self-certify via a form each year to claim this voting right.
Organizations can also become voting members by joining at one of the five tiers (ranging from $1,200/yr to $20,000/yr) listed on the General Assembly Membership - Organization tiers on Open Collective.
Additionally, individuals who have made substantial contributions to Mautic but who are no longer involved in the project may be nominated to become an Honorary Member, gaining a lifetime membership and voting rights without any financial or practical contribution requirement.
