Week 0: Expand the Mautic Marketplace: Ratings, reviews and UX improvements - Mission: Marketplace Upgrade

Hey there I'm Ketu Patel a computer engineering student. This summer I am working on the project ": Expand the Mautic Marketplace: Ratings, reviews and UX improvements" as a selected contributor in Google Summer of Code 2024. I'm working on this project with my mentors John Linhart, Rahul Shinde and Simran Sethi.

What your project about?

My project focusing on mautic marketplace to enhance its functionality and user experience. The goal is to overcome the pagination issue persist by the packagist api for that john make a detailed blog. than implement a comprehensive rating and review system and optimizing the user experience design. These improvements will help marketers discover relevant plugins more efficiently, make informed decisions, and enjoy a seamless browsing experience within the marketplace.

Why your project?

In any marketing tool the marketplace plays the important role. A marketplace can provide functionalities for user to interact smoothly. The current process of fetching and managing packages and themes from Packagist is fraught with challenges, including handling API limitations, managing pagination and many more. So we have come with the solution that; By integrating Supabase, we can overcome these limitations and provide a seamless, efficient solution for developers. We can filter out the best plugins by incorporating a robust rating and review system.

Community Bonding Period

Before starting of actual GSoC coding phase we have a community bonding period where we focus on understanding the needs and challenges faced by developers and the user. The mentors helps me to solve my doubts of marketplace and related to the mautic codebase these helps me to collect the current marketplace features and identify pain points that need addressing. We make a plan to overcome issue and for new features. And one thing that i must want to say that mautic has a great community.

Deliverables

After the GSoC I'm ready with marketplace that solving packagist limitations, introduce ratings and reviews and ux improvements of marketplace.

For Next Week

In the first week i learn the technologies which will use in project. Complete the research and analysis phase, finalize the project scope, and outline the detailed implementation plan. stay tuned.......
